Danville set to clash with Corning Miller in Regional Semifinal Football action

The Danville Blue Devils are back to a familiar spot, following a dominating 60-2 win over Portsmouth Nortre Dame last Friday Night the Blue Devils head to a neutral site at Thornville Sheridan to face off with the Falcons for a spot in the Regional Final.

Jacob Hackman threw for 161 yards and a touchdown in the win. While Nolan Ridgeway threw for 30 yards in a score but it was the ground game and the push up front that led Danville to victory. Along with a stout defense the Blue Devils ran for 334 yards on offense in the win. Aiden Burke and Cyren Wallace accounted for 4 touchdowns, Wallace ran for 80 yards, while Ashton Spaulding added 2 scores and Josh Byers and Chris Mosher each found the end zone, Mosher on a 71 yard touchdown pass.

The Blue Devils will face off with Corning Miller who beat Steubenville Central Catholic 36-20 to reach the school’s first ever Regional Semifinal a week after capturing the school’s first ever playoff win. 

The Falcons fumbled the opening kickoff which led to a touchdown for Central Catholic but the team settled in and used a similar formula to Danville to advance, they ran the football. The Falcons ran 40 times for 365 yards and all 5 of their touchdowns, the team threw just 3 passes but against a stout Danville front the Falcons will have to use the air more Friday Night.

Zander Bice led the way behind a good offensive line. Bice rushed 21 times for 193 yards. Miller quarterback Logan Doughty had a 57 yard touchdown run and finished with 110 yards on the ground.  Noah Lemaster scored a pair of fourth quarter rushing touchdowns to help Miller in the win.

Bice had touchdown runs of 2 and 36 yards. Doughty had the 57 yarder and  Lemaster’s came from 1 yard out and 35 yards out.  Lemaster ran for 65 yards total. Central Catholic ran for 207 total yards but threw for just 30 in the loss.

Danville averages 30 points per game and allows just over 10 a game

Miller averages 34 points per game and allows 15 points per game

The winner gets the winner of Beaver Eastern and Conotton Valley. Eastern and Miller met to open the season and Eastern won in double overtime 34-33 and is currently undefeated.
