Danville set to clash in Regional Final with Dalton

Danville finished 4th in final AP State Poll and Dalton finished 5th

Danville comes in 13-0. Offense averages over 45 points per game and Defense allows just under 14 points per contest. Led on offense by a dominate offense line and many skill players the team’s starting quarterback Walker Weckesser has run for 782 yards and 15 touchdowns and thrown for 1,363 yards and 18 touchdowns. Cole Delaughder has run for a single season school record 1,676 yards and 25 touchdowns while adding a pair of passing touchdowns and 3 receiving touchdowns. Bryer Boeshart has run for over 300 yards and 6 touchdowns, Boeshart also has over 300 yards receiving and two touchdowns and three punt returns for touchdowns. Nate Stephens has 7 receiving touchdowns.

On defense Josh Byers has 163 tackles, 16 for loss and Caleb Lucas has 109 tackles to go with 10 sacks and 23 tackles for loss. Boeshart also has 97 tackles. Delaughder adds 6 sacks and 40 tackles.

In the win over Lowellville Delaughder was outstanding behind the offensive line, Delaughder ran for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns and had a receiving touchdown. Byers had 22 tackles and Lucas and Boeshart each added 10.

Danville will play a Dalton team that comes in winners of 11 straight following a season opening loss to Kirtland 14-7. Their offense averages nearly 43 points a game and their defense allows 11 points per game in their 12 games. (Didn’t play 8/25).

In the Bulldogs latest playoff win over Norwalk Saint Paul the team came out on top 48-28. Greyson Siders had a 47 yard interception return for a touchdown and ran for 312 yards on 23 carries and had 3 touchdowns. Siders had scores of 2, 29 and 65 yards. The team also had a 31 and 34 yard fumble recovery for touchdowns.

The Bulldogs have rushed for over 3,600 yards this season and 54 rushing scores. Led by Siders who has 1,660 yards rushing and 27 rushing scores, Sammy Tomlinson, who left the last game with injury has 831 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns. Collin Pearson has thrown for 1,479 yards and 14 touchdowns. Gavin Annen leads the defense with 72.5 tackles and Alex Hess is second with over 64 tackles. Collin Jones 6 sacks is the most on defense.
