Danville dominates Beaver Eastern to earn trip to State Final Four

The Danville Blue Devils led less than two minutes into the game Friday Night at Logan vs Beaver Eastern and dominated to claim a 40-6 win and a trip to the State Final Four in Division Seven.

The Blue Devils got on the board at the 10:15 mark on a Cyren Wallace 33 yard touchdown run to make it 8-0 after the 2 point conversion. The Blue Devils tacked on with an Aiden Burke rushing score from 4 yards out to up the lead 14-0 with 545 to go in the opening period. Quarterback Jacob Hackman added a 6 yard touchdown score in the first quarter to increase the lead to 22-0 with 16 seconds left as the Blue Devils got the two point conversion.

Carson Peters got an 82 yard interception return for a touchdown to get the Eagles on the board with just over 6 minutes to go in the quarter but Danville’s Jacob Hackman got a 1 yard touchdown run with 14 seconds left but failed on the two point conversion to lead 28-6 at the half.

Burke did the rest of the damage scoring wise for Danville in the third quarter. Burke ran for a 4 yard touchdown with 643 left in the period to increase the lead to 34-6. Burke finished the scoring with an 11 yard run just 6 seconds into the fourth quarter to up the lead to 40-6. Danville advances to the State Final Four.

Danville improved to 12-2 and Eastern was handed their first loss. Danville ran for 337 yards led by 146 and 3 scores from Aidan Burke. Cyren Wallace ran for 93 yards.

Owen Gronberg, Wallace and Josh Byers led the way with 21 tackles combined

Danville takes on Jeromesville Hillsdale who was a 44-14 winner to advance

This is Danville’s first state final four appearance since 2017 when they lost to Cuyahoga Heights
