Cougars Leave Racers in the Dust with 38 Point Victory

LIMA, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s basketball team (2-0) defeated the University of Northwestern Ohio (0-2) on the road on Tuesday, November 7.

MVNU was firing on all cylinders offensively as it used 15 first half threes to build a 72-48 lead going into the break. The Cougars kept their foot on the gas peddle in the second half, outracing the Racers by a final of 120-82.

MVNU was 20-47 from deep (42.6%) and 42-77 (54.5%) from the field in the win. MVNU held UNOH to just 40.3% shooting from the floor and 24.1% shooting from three.

MVNU’s defense forced 23 Racer turnovers and turned those into 29 points. The Cougars had 20 assists to 15 turnovers, and also won the boards 40-34.
