Centerburg, Danville and Fredericktown open up football season with wins

The Centerburg Trojans had a love connection in their opening 34-0 win over the Utica Redskins in Friday Night’s season opener. Blane Ball threw for 280 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Senior also ran for 84 yards. He found Hayden Love 5 times and Love scored all 4 touchdowns while having 240 yards receiving. The two connected on touchdowns of 90, 80, 39 and 20 yards.

Danville got a huge performance from Sophomore Running Back Cyren Wallace in a 34-13 win over Worthington Christian. Wallace ran for 187 yards and 3 scores in the win. He averaged nearly 8 yards a carry. Nolan Ridgeway threw for 122 yards and a touchdown. Carson Proper had 23 yards receiving with a touchdown.

Brode Davis scored a pair of touchdowns for the Fredericktown Freddies in an opening 21-6 over the Highland Scots Friday. Davis had a 76 yard touchdown run and 13 yard touchdown reception on a pass from quarterback Blake Sipes.

Bryaden Bingham rushed for 239 yards and 3 touchdowns as Northridge beat East Knox 25-24. He had touchdown runs of 18, 22 and 80 yards.

Mount Vernon’s Mason Richards had a pair of rushing scores and 91 yards rushing in the Jackets home loss to Marion Harding 21-14.
