Cattrell earns promotion to offensive coordinator

GAMBIER, Ohio — After two full seasons with the Kenyon College football program, Blake Cattrell was promoted to the position of offensive coordinator. Head coach Ian Good made the announcement this week.

“I am very excited to see Blake step into his new role this fall,” Good said. “He is an excellent recruiter and relationship builder who will add to the continuity of our staff as we continue to build and improve.”

For the past two seasons, Cattrell served as the Owls offensive line coach. During the 2022 campaign, he also took on duties as the team’s director of football operations. That 2022 team benefited from strong play along the line, which generated time and space for the Owls to rack up 4,440 yards of total offense, the third-best single-season output in program history. The team also set a program record, piling up 250 first downs throughout the season.

Prior to his work at Kenyon, Cattrell spent six seasons at Taylor University, where he took on duties as offensive line and tight ends coach.

Cattrell is a 2013 graduate of Taylor, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology education. He was a four-year letterwinner as an offensive lineman with the Trojans program and was selected to participate in the 2012 Ohio College Football Senior Bowl.

Cattrell’s previous coaching experiences also included stints at Culver-Stockton College and Kentucky Christian University.
