NEW ORLEANS, La. — Kenyon College’s indoor track and field team had two student-athletes tabbed as All-Region honorees by the United States Track and Field Cross and Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Senior Paula Soric and junior Anna Brown landed on the All-Region ledger to close the indoor campaign.
The USTFCCCA divides NCAA Division III institutions into ten regions, with Kenyon fitting into the Great Lakes Region. The top five individuals in each track and field event, from each region, were awarded All-Region distinction.
Soric is no stranger to the recognition as she has secured an All-Region award after each of her four indoor track and field seasons. For the second straight season, Soric ranked second in the Great Lakes Region’s triple jump rankings. The senior’s best leap saw her land 11.36 meters (37-3 ¼) out, a mark she set while winning the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship in the event.
Brown received All-Region recognition for the first time in her career. The junior posted the region’s fifth-fastest finish in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:17.99 after adjusting for track size. Brown’s top time came in the team’s first outing of the spring, and she excelled throughout the season, capping her campaign with a runner-up finish at the NCAC Championships.
The Owls duo marks the first time since the USTFCCCA began awarding All-Region honors for NCAA Division III institutions in 2015-16 that the Kenyon program has had an indoor All-Region honoree in two separate events.
