COLUMBUS—State Senator Andrew Brenner (R-Delaware) celebrated Mount Vernon High School students Ashlynn Brokaw and Alex Taylor for winning the Division I State Wrestling Championship in each of their respected weight classes.
“Both of these students have achieved an outstanding accomplishment,” said Senator Brenner. “I could not be more proud of these student-athletes and look forward to watching their future endeavors.”
Ashlynn Brokaw won the state wrestling championship in the 105-pound weight class, finishing the season with 47 wins.
Alex Taylor won the state championship in the heavyweight class and will be competing in the Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro and the World Championships in Athens, Greece later this summer.
