Bar-Cohen collects second all-conference award

CLEVELAND — For the second time in as many years, Gefen Bar-Cohen was named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) men’s basketball team. The conference made the announcement Tuesday and the Kenyon College junior learned of his spot among the third-team selections.

Bar-Cohen, a 6-4 forward, started all 26 games for the Owls during the 2023-24 season. He led the team in both points per game (13.3) and rebounds per game (5.9). He also topped the team charts for blocks (15), free throws attempted (126) and free throws made (83).

Bar-Cohen scored 20 or more points in six games this past season and he racked up four double-doubles. His season-best scoring output was 24 points in a Kenyon win over Chatham University.

With the award, the Princeton, New Jersey native became the first two-time all-conference player for Kenyon men’s basketball since Ikenna Nwadibia and Brian Lebowitz each won straight three awards with the last of them bestowed at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season.

Putting a cap on his junior season, Bar-Cohen will head into his senior year of 2024-25 with 844 career points and 382 career rebounds.
