Zimmermann brings ‘MindShift’ to MVNU pastor seminar

Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s School of Christian Ministry will offer a one-day seminar for ministry students and all pastors and leaders on the MVNU field. The event, on Oct. 25, features Philip Zimmermann’s presentation of “MindShift,” a training event that focuses on the five paradigm shifts necessary for fruitful ministry in what is quickly becoming a post-Christian context.

Zimmermann developed this framework after co-organizing Communities on Mission (CoM) to reach the unchurched and those in need throughout Germany. Through CoM, small groups meet to study Scripture, pray, minister to the homeless, serve in refugee camps, visit the elderly and sick in hospitals, and more. His unique approach to ministering to the unchurched provides Zimmermann with insight into how to connect with people where they are and to invite them into the mission.

Rev. Stephanie Lobdell, Campus Pastor at MVNU, eagerly awaits Zimmermann’s impactful training session.

“Zimmermann’s mission gives me hope. The Holy Spirit is stirring people’s imagination of what it means to be the Church in secular society through the unique work of Communities on Mission,” said Lobdell. “His personal faith experience and the work his organization is doing will provide students a way to see their vocations through the lens of the Kingdom of God.”

The seminar will be Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Ariel Arena’s Foster Hall. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided with the $45 registration cost.

All pastors and leaders on the MVNU field are invited to attend with Lifelong Learning Credit available. Deadline to register is Oct. 18. Click here to secure your seat.
