Week Two gives some Knox County Schools chance to pick up first win

The East Knox Bulldogs look to pick up their first win of the season when they host Bucyrus Wynford tonight. The Bulldogs fell 8-7 last week at Northridge as the Vikings got a safety and an 8 yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs got a 68 yard touchdown pass from Jaxon Lester to Logan Clark as their only school.

Wynford lost 49-13 vs Galion on Thursday Night of last week in their season opener.

Centerburg got a crucial pick 6 from Trevin Harris last week in a 21-6 win over Utica but will face a stiff test tonight as they head to Ontario to take on the Warriors. Blane Ball threw a 23 yard touchdown in the win for the Trojans. Ontario beat Lexington 31-14 behind Ohio State Commitment Bodpegn Miller. Miller threw a pair of touchdowns to Noah Poole. Miller finished 3-for-12 passing for 94 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while also running for 96 yards on 19 carries.

Mount Vernon’s Jake Taylor finished 11-for-22 passing for 234 yards after going 5 of 10 for 68 yards in the first half. The Jackets had 16 first downs to Harding’s 112 and committed seven penalties for 50 yards in a 31-27 loss at Marion Harding. The Jackets got a pair of field goals from Gabe Montoya. They take on Newark who beat Licking Heights 31-21 last week and beat Mount Vernon 35-28 last year.

Danville takes on Utica tonight coming off a win over Worthington Christian 50-21. Senior Aiden Burke ran for 145 yards and two scores and also had a receiving touchdown. The Blue Devils ran for 326 yards in the win. Utica lost at home to Centerburg 21-6.

Fredericktown plays at Northridge. Blake Sipes threw for 2 scores and ran for 2 more in a 30-28 win over Highland. Elijah Roush totaled 173 yards on the ground on 35 carries.
