Voter turnout just over 24 percent in Knox County as decisions made

Voter turnout was just 24.18 percent in Knox County Tuesday in the General Election. Mount Vernon City Council President Bruce Hawkins ran unopposed yet he garnered 1,469 votes. Daniel Brinkman also ran unopposed for Mount Vernon City Auditor. Amber Keener and Mel Severns were re elected to Mount Vernon City Council and they were joined by newcomer Dale Miller who got the second most votes behind Severns. James Mahan and John Ruckman each ran unopposed for seats on Mount Vernon City Council. There were 523 write in votes for the 3rd ward council seat in Mount Vernon and Taylor Jacklin receivied 225 of those votes to secure that seat. Lenan Hager ran unopposed for the 4th ward council seat.

Melissa Tomlinson received 21.43 percent of the vote to secure a seat on East Board of Education. Randy Reese garnered just under 25 percent of the vote and was also elected along with Joshua Beltz. Paul Stover and David Dusthimer were elected to Danville Board of Education. Central Ohio Joint Fire District levy passed in Centerburg.
