Trial for man facing over 30 charges including rape has been continued in Knox County Common Pleas Court

On Wednesday the attorney for Gary Thomas Keesee, who is currently out on bond and is facing over 30 charges including rape and gross sexual imposition, montioned for a continuance in a trial scheduled to start Tuesday in Knox County Common Pleas Court. The case since has been continued for a second time with no date set for trial after the continuance.

Keesee faces dozens of charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, and sexual conduct with a minor in connection with victims who were also members of the Faith Life Church in New Albany. Prosecutors have said there is no evidence the abuse occurred on church premises.

He was a former leader of the church and his parents Gary and Drenda Keesee are the founders and leaders of the church. Drenda is also a Knox County Commissioner.

Earlier this week Keesee’s drivers license and passport were taken.
