Son charged following stabbing death of father in Howard

On December 9, 2025, at approximately 6:16 p.m., the Knox County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an injured person at a residence on King Road in Howard, Ohio. Deputies responded and discovered the individual was deceased from apparent stab wounds. 

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Knox County Coroner’s Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), conducted an on-scene investigation. The victim has been identified as Kevin Hay. 

A juvenile located at the residence was arrested and transported to the Muskingum County Juvenile Detention Center. A complaint was filed in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division, charging Brice Hay with one count of Aggravated Murder and one count of Murder for the stabbing death of his father, Kevin Hay. 

This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available at this time. Authorities have determined this was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the surrounding community.
