Police in Mount Vernon investigate after woman found dead following Traffic Crash

On October 27th, 2022, officers were dispatched to a reported one vehicle traffic
accident in the area of 107 Howard St.
Upon arrival at the scene, Officers discovered the driver of the vehicle, a 65-year-old
female, was deceased.
Mount Vernon Police Department detectives and members of the Knox County
Coroner’s Office responded. The victim was transported to the Licking County Coroner’s
Office for autopsy. At this time the incident appears to be medical in nature and neither
alcohol or drug use are believed to be a factor at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and final status is pending the results of the full autopsy.
