Musicians of All Ages Take the Stage at KVAA Open Mic Night

More than a dozen performers took to the stage Thursday evening as the Kokosing Valley Arts Alliance hosted its latest Open Mic Night at the historic Woodward Opera House.

The event brought together a diverse mix of musicians, singers, songwriters, and performers ranging from first-time participants to seasoned open mic veterans. Audience members filled the venue to support local talent and enjoy an evening centered around creativity, encouragement, and community.

Throughout the night, performers of all ages shared music and stories with the crowd. Many chose to showcase original songs, giving attendees the opportunity to hear new material from local artists in an intimate and welcoming setting.

The atmosphere reflected the spirit of the local arts community, with performers cheering one another on and audience members offering enthusiastic support throughout the evening. Whether stepping onto the stage for the first time or returning as a familiar face, each performer found a receptive audience eager to celebrate local talent.

Hosted by Nellie Six and Side Effects, the event highlighted the growing collaboration among musicians and artists throughout Knox County. Performers were able to play solo, perform with fellow musicians, or join in with the evening’s open jam session.

Organizers say events like Open Mic Night help strengthen connections within the arts community while providing a space for artists to experiment, grow, and share their work with others.

The Kokosing Valley Arts Alliance continues to host events and programs designed to support visual and performing artists throughout the region.
