MOUNT VERNON, OHIO—Experience Mount Vernon is thrilled to kick off the summer event season with the first First Friday of 2025, proudly presented by Edward Jones of Mount Vernon, on Friday, June 6 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the heart of Downtown Mount Vernon! This month’s theme, “Happy 220th Birthday Mount Vernon,” is a full-blown birthday bash for our beloved city — complete with music, food, trucks, games, and all the festive flair you’d expect from a milestone celebration!

Thanks to Ariel Corporation, the Knox Foodies Food Truck Trail returns with delicious food options for all taste buds around Public Square. From savory bites to sweet treats, it’s the perfect way to sample your way through the party.
Main Stage Moments:
- Catch Rewynd rocking the Knox Community Hospital Public Square Main Stage with timeless hits that will have you dancing in the streets!
- Check out the MTVarts Community Corner on South Main Street at Ohio Avenue with performances from 9 to 5 The Musical, dance shows, games—and a Dolly Parton Look-a-Like Contest! Emceed by the Mount Vernon Arts Consortium.
Family Fun All Around:
- The MVNU Athletics KidZone, presented by the Teen Advisory Council (TAC), will transform Public Square into a hub of high-energy fun for kids of all ages.
- Touch-a-Truck, hosted by PAK United and presented by CES Credit Union, will line West High Street with exciting emergency vehicles for kids to explore — from fire engines to police cruisers!
- Say “cheese!” at the Birthday Party-themed photo booth on West Gambier Street, sponsored by Flappers Bar & Grille, and capture your best birthday smiles.
- Cruise into nostalgia at the A+ Autobrokers Classic Car Cruise-In on East and West Vine Street — a must-see for car enthusiasts!
Arriving on two wheels? Use the free bicycle valet hosted by Get Healthy Knox County on West Gambier Street.
With over 100 local vendors and exhibitors, there’s something for everyone to explore — from handcrafted goods and local art to interactive community booths.
Street Closure Notice:
To safely host this unforgettable evening, Main Street from Chestnut Street to Ohio Avenue, including Public Square and East & West High, Vine, and Gambier Streets (from Gay to Mulberry), will close to through and parked traffic at 3:30 p.m. on June 6. Please make sure all parked vehicles are moved by that time.
