Mount Vernon Safety Service Director Resigns

The City of Mount Vernon’s Mayor Matt Starr announced the resignation of Safety Service Director Rick Dzik Tuesday, his last day will be September 8th. Among Dzik’s accomplishments noted by the Mayor were that Dzik developed Mount Vernon’s first strategic plan, reorganized and created the department of Public Works, reorganized the Department of Public Utilities, Implemented technology solutions for improved data collection and management, as well as the Asset Essentials work order system and was responsible for City Hall Upgrades. Mayor Starr says in regards to the transition plan that there is an outline and that a search for Dzik’s replacement will begin very soon.

Dzik has agreed to a three year contract employment contract with Huber Heights to become their next City Manager. His first day will be September 11th.

Dzik will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the city as city manager, and provide leadership and direction to a staff of approximately 188 full-time employees and 17 part-time employees.
