The Mount Vernon Farmers Market on the square, last day October 25.
School is back in, fall sports are happening and the weather is getting cooler. Many people are not thinking about the farmers market still going on.
Not only is it still going on, but there is still a great assortment of produce, honey, syrup, jellies, baked goods, flowers and soaps. The pumpkins are starting to come in and the mums are beautiful. These not only make wonderful decorations for your fall gatherings, but many of these pumpkins and squash make great pies and soups.
Several incentive programs are offered for the market. These include SNAP, Produce Perks, Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program and Knox County Task Force for Older Adults tokens. Stop by the market information table for details.
We have 20 plus local vendors who are participating. All products are produced within 25 miles of downtown Mount Vernon.
