Moore arraignment set for September 25th in Double Homicide

Police in Mount Vernon continue to investigate the murders of two people earlier this month. Cameron Moore, a 23-year-old from Mount Vernon, is facing two counts of aggravated murder, which could result in the death penalty if he is convicted. His arraignment is scheduled for September 25th in Knox County Common Pleas Court.

Moore was arrested shortly after the bodies of a male and a female were discovered in an apartment building at 105 South Gay Street in Mount Vernon on the night of August 14th. The discovery was made after someone requested a welfare check.

As of now, the police have not released the names of the victims, pending permission from their families. The investigation is still ongoing.
