Mansfield Woman killed in Sunday Crash in Knox County

Fredericktown – The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating
a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 12:25 PM, on State Route
95 near milepost 6 north of Fredericktown in Knox County.


Alicia Johnson, age 70 of Plymouth, Ohio, was operating a 2020 Vespa GTS300
motorcycle southwest on State Route 95. Ms. Johnson failed to negotiate a curve, drove
off the right side of the roadway, and overturned. Bridgette Murray, age 52 of Mansfield,
Ohio, was a passenger on the Vespa.


Both riders were transported to Ohio Health in Mansfield where Ms. Murray succumbed to
her injuries. Ms. Johnson sustained serious injuries. Ms. Murray was not wearing a helmet
at the time of the crash. Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be a factor.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Knox County Sheriff’s
Office, Fredericktown Police Department, and Fredericktown Fire/EMS. The crash remains
under investigation.
