Westerville, OH — On Thursday, July 24th, Kokosing Construction, along with Help Build Hope and Habitat for Humanity of Knox County partnered together to lead a meaningful, hands-on training experience for their summer interns at the company’s headquarters in Westerville, Ohio.
As part of the training, Kokosing had over sixty interns work alongside representatives from Help Build Hope—a ministry of CrossRoads Missions that engages groups in framing interior and exterior walls for homes in a single day. Together, they constructed sixty eight wall sections for a new Habitat home on Columbus Road in Mount Vernon. The completed wall panels were then transported to the build site for assembly by Habitat crews and volunteers.
This home is the sixth in a 12-home project made possible through the Welcome Home Ohio grant, with all homes scheduled for completion by late spring of 2026.
“Partnerships like this are the backbone of our work,” said Terry Schulz, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Knox County. “Kokosing’s commitment to community, workforce development, and giving back is clear. We’re grateful to have their interns take part in something that will have a lasting impact here in Knox County.”
Habitat is currently seeking volunteers to help complete this and other homes in the Columbus Road development. No experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome.
