Faith Life Church has issued a statement following the arrest of 36-year-old Gary Thomas Keesee, the son of the church’s pastor and Knox County Commissioner Drenda Keesee. He faces two counts of rape stemming from allegations of incidents that occurred nearly two decades ago.
Court documents state that three victims have come forward, with two of the alleged assaults taking place on May 31, 2001, and on Keesee’s birthday, November 23, 2006.
The church emphasized that the alleged incidents “in no way involved Faith Life Church” and stated that it has fully cooperated with the Licking County Sheriff’s Office during the investigation.
A Knox County Grand Jury is scheduled to hear the case on Monday.
