Keesee indicted by Knox County Grand Jury

KNOX COUNTY, OH — Gary “Tom” Keesee Jr., the son of prominent New Albany church leaders, has been indicted on nearly 30 charges related to sexual assault allegations spanning over two decades.

A Knox County grand jury returned a multi-count indictment Monday against the 36-year-old, who is the son of Faith Life Church senior pastors Gary and Drenda Keesee. The charges include:

  • 11 counts of rape
  • 11 counts of gross sexual imposition
  • 5 counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor

The case stems from two reported incidents — one from 2001 and another from 2006 — initially filed in Mount Vernon Municipal Court. The new charges follow further investigation and grand jury proceedings.

Keesee, a former staff member at Faith Life Church, was arrested Friday at his residence in Johnstown by the Licking County Sheriff’s Office. He is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear for an arraignment hearing on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

A press conference regarding the arrest and charges is scheduled for 3 p.m. today at the Licking County Sheriff’s Office. Officials have announced the event will be livestreamed for public viewing.
