KCH celebrates survivors in June

National Cancer Survivor’s Month is celebrated in June! Knox Community Hospital invites everyone to join in this annual Celebration of Life that is recognized throughout hundreds of communities nationwide.

What is National Cancer Survivors Month?

It is a time of hope created to celebrate survivors and provide encouragement for people currently fighting cancer. Anyone can be involved in the effort, no matter if you are a cancer survivor, a family member, friend, or medical professional. This month allows for the many people who have a history of cancer to come together and celebrate milestones and recognize the people who have supported them throughout their journey. National Cancer Survivors Month is also aimed to bring attention to cancer survivorship and the ongoing challenges that they face. This month fulfills much of the need for more resources, research, and survivorship-friendly legislation to improve cancer survivors’ quality of life. In America alone, there are more than 16.9 million cancer survivors. This month allows for all people who have been affected by cancer in any way to connect and get to share their journeys. The motto of this month is “It is a CELEBRATION for those who have survived, an INSPIRATION for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of SUPPORT for families, and an OUTREACH to the community.”

Knox Community Hospital has been honored to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Month for more than 15 years. Please join KCH in celebrating and recognizing our community member survivors’ and lifting up those who have been recently diagnosed.
