“KCCC’s Kennedy Auker Awarded National Scholarship”

Mount Vernon, OH – The National Association of Landscape Professionals Foundation
announced their annual national scholarships at the National Collegiate Landscape Competition
at Colorado State University.


Kennedy Auker, a senior in Landscape Design & Management, was awarded the $1,000
Stephen Hillenmeyer Landscape Services Scholarship.


Auker said, “Receiving the Stephen Hillenmeyer Landscape Services Scholarship,
presented by the National Association of Landscape Professionals, is an incredible honor. I’m
deeply grateful for this $1,000 scholarship and the opportunity it provides me to pursue my
dream of running my family’s farm.”


Auker plans to pursue a degree in Agriculture. She is dedicated to taking over her
family-owned farm and keeping the generation of farming running. With a background in
landscaping and farming, Auker is excited to contribute her skills to the field of Agriculture.


Auker added, “I’ll be attending the Ohio State Agricultural Institute to major in both
Sustainable Agriculture and Landscape Horticulture, and this scholarship brings me one step
closer to that goal. The Scholarship Awards Breakfast was a wonderful experience. I had a
chance to network with other scholarship recipients and was inspired by their stories. I’m
thankful to all those who have supported me on this journey, and I look forward to using this
scholarship to make a lasting impact on the future of farming and landscaping.”
