“KCCC & KTC Host Annual Advisory Dinner”

Mount Vernon, OH – Knox County Career Center Schools hosted their annual Advisory
Dinner on Thursday, October 3.
Advisory members for each lab are made up of local business professionals in their
respective fields associated with each career tech program at KCCC high school and Knox
Technical Center. Advisory members provide support and keep lab programs up to date with the
latest trends and equipment being used in each career field. They also assist in curriculum
decisions and making sure everything being taught is relevant to each career field.
KCCC hosted approximately 240 guests during the dinner. The Advisory Dinner took
place in the cafetorium at KCCC, following the meetings that were conducted in each high
school career tech lab where different aspects of industries were discussed. The dinner was
prepared by students in KCCC’s Culinary Arts program under the direction of Chef Russo,
KCCC’s Culinary Arts instructor. A PowerPoint presentation was presented by administrators
sharing the vision of career tech and important data about the KCCC High School and Knox
Technical Center. These meetings with stakeholders also fulfill federal funding requirements.
“This is an important evening for us. Our business and industry partners join us to
discuss important aspects of the career pathways we have at the high school and Knox
Technical Center. We appreciate their time and valuable expertise,” said Kathy Greenich, KCCC
Superintendent.

Knox Technical Center (KTC) conducts its advisory meetings at different times than the
high school. KTC, the adult education branch of the Knox County Career Center Schools
District, offers cutting-edge programs in a variety of fields ranging from healthcare to industrial
trades.
Advisory members are people working in or retired from that profession who want to
ensure that the next generation is equipped to succeed. “Our community partnerships and
advisory boards play a critical role in helping us ensure that our programs are current and
relevant as we train an adult workforce,” said Kim Williams, KTC Director.
