In a new community initiative, a weekly shuttle service with Knox Area Transit has been announced by KAT Director Bethany Celmar that will transport residents to the Mid-Ohio Market at the Center of Hope Food Bank in Bladensburg. The shuttle, operational every Tuesday, will pick up passengers from Zone 1, encompassing Mount Vernon and its outskirts. Residents living outside Zone 1 can schedule a ride to Mount Vernon to join the shuttle, all free of charge. The service aims to facilitate better access to food resources, offering not just transportation but a chance to gather ingredients, perhaps even for a homemade pizza.
To schedule a pickup you can call KAT at 740-392-7433. Arrival in Bladensburg will be at 10am and participants would leave Bladensburg at 11am.
