Hydrant Flushing set to take place in September in Mount Vernon

The Mount Vernon Fire Department will be conducting annual hydrant flushing in the southern
half of the City between September 3rd and September 30th. The flushing is scheduled to begin
around 8:00 a.m and will conclude by 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday.

Please refrain from using your washing machine to launder your clothing during the above
mentioned times. Sudden drops in water pressure may be noted, but should correct themselves
after a few short minutes. If you experience very low pressure or are temporarily without water,
please call the Mount Vernon Water Office at 740-393-9504 immediately.

For the complete schedule of dates and locations of the flushing activity, please visit the Mount
