HopeNow Furniture Bank Seeks
Urgently Needed Donations

MOUNT VERNON — HopeNow Furniture Bank (HNFB), the local non-profit dedicated to their
mission of providing household goods to those in Knox county struggling to furnish their own
homes due to poverty and other challenging life experiences, has urgent need for supplies to
distribute.

Currently they are in need of small appliances such as; coffee pots, toasters, and mixers. There is
also a need for silverware, microwavable dishware, bath towels and bed sheets in all sizes.
HopeNow can always use donations of beds, mattresses and box springs in the twin, queen and
full sizes, and bedding such as sheets and blankets to go with them, dressers and chests of
drawers, sofas, love seats, and small dining tables and chair, according to Rev. Mearle Griffith,
HNFB Executive Director.

If you have any gently-used items, clean and not requiring repairs, which you would like to
donate, HopeNow has drop-off times on Tuesdays from 1-3:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. at 1201 S. Main St., Mount Vernon. There is also the option of having HopeNow
volunteers pick up the items for a $20 donation, scheduling through their website,
www.hopenowfurniturebank.org, or by calling 740-358-2998.

HopeNow Furniture Bank collects gently-used furniture and mattresses, bed linens, towels,
small kitchen appliances, dishes and basic kitchen items from donors and distributes them to
families living in poverty or need-level circumstances free of charge.

Families are eligible if they are Knox County residents and have income low enough to qualify
for food stamps or Medicaid Assistance.

HopeNow Furniture Bank proudly announces that it has received a $5000 Knox Community
Foundation Grant. These funds support our Stock the Shelves Initiative and allow HNFB
to purchase new household items for our clients when donation run out.
