Fredericktown Police to have presence as school gets underway

The Fredericktown Police Department is reminding the community to prioritize safety as the new school year begins on August 14, 2025. With students returning to classrooms, drivers are urged to slow down and remain vigilant for children in school zones, bus stops, and crosswalks. Children can be unpredictable, often crossing streets unexpectedly, making heightened awareness essential.

To help establish safe driving habits, the Fredericktown Police Department, in collaboration with the Knox
County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, will increase patrols in school zones starting
August 7, 2025, and continue through the week following the school start date. This enhanced presence aims to remind drivers to exercise caution and protect young pedestrians.
