“Four KCCC Students Earn On Track with HVAC Status”

Mount Vernon, OH- The Knox County Career Center HVAC program recognized four
students who earned “On Track with HVAC” status. Mason Flack, Clayton Vance, Josiah Colon,
and Logan Miller all completed the necessary requirements to earn “On Track with HVAC”
status.

“On Track with HVAC” is a program generated by Brad Schmidt, HVAC instructor at
KCCC, and the KCCC HVAC Advisory Committee. In order to earn “On Track with HVAC”
status, students must complete all credentials that are provided in the HVAC program, pass a
drug test, miss a maximum of eight days or less of school in their junior year, and be employed
through a local company through KCCC’s Work-Based Learning program.

Students who earn “On Track with HVAC” receive a tool bag full of hand tools and an
electric meter to kick-start their career in the HVAC field. This opportunity is made possible by
the HVAC Advisory Committee, which is made up of local industry partners who support
KCCC’s HVAC program and industry.

“It is a great privilege to reward a student that works hard to succeed, and is determined
to take on the next steps. This is the first group of many that will be part of “On Track with
HVAC”. Congratulations, we are proud of you!” said Schmidt.

KCCC & the HVAC program would like to thank the businesses that sponsor “On Track
with HVAC”. Thank you to Lapp Heating & Cooling, IBEW 688, Universal Enterprise Inc., Coffing
Electric, Advantage Air, and Mac Heating & Cooling.
