Experience Mount Vernon Announces the 2022 Walter Rudin Award Winner

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Walter Rudin Award, sponsored by Park National Bank, is awarded to an individual in honor of their long-term commitment to downtown Mount Vernon and the community. Recognizing the significant contributions to downtown Mount Vernon and Experience Mount Vernon, the 2022 Walter Rudin Award recipient joins a list of distinguished members of the downtown Mount Vernon story.
With nearly ten years of service to Experience Mount Vernon, Lisa Lloyd of the Knox County Foundation has been a pillar in keeping the organization steady through several name, administrative, and location changes. Not only has Ms. Lloyd been committed to the vitality of Downtown through her service on the Experience Mount Vernon board of directors,
but she volunteered at countless events, been part of numerous working groups, committees, and non-profit organizations all dedicated to keeping Downtown Mount Vernon a vibrant place to work, live, and visit. Congratulations to Lisa Lloyd for being awarded the 2022 Walter Rudin Award.
Experience Mount Vernon gave out five additional awards at their Awards & Investor Breakfast on January 27, namely, Small Business of the Year (a downtown business with 5 or fewer employees), Large Business of the Year (a downtown business with 6 or more employees), Non-Profit of the Year, The Community Pride Award, and The Spirit of Heritage Award.
The 2022 Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by McDaniel CPA, was awarded to Old Mr. Bailiwick’s for their continued support of and contribution to Experience Mount Vernon programming. The 2022 Large Business of the Year award, sponsored by Markt Apparel, was awarded to Flappers Bar & Grille for their commitment to keeping Downtown Mount Vernon a vibrant place. The 2022 Non-Profit of the Year Award, sponsored by Open Road Renewables, was awarded to The Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau for the support of Experience Mount Vernon through marketing and branding campaigns. The 2022 Community Pride Award, sponsored by Griffin Insurance, was awarded to
TD Landscape, Inc for the time and commitment they have given to enhancing the physical appearance and beauty of Downtown Mount Vernon. The 2022 Spirit of Heritage award, sponsored by e-Merge Champions, was awarded to Todd Taylor for continually going above and beyond to find ways to strengthen and enhance Experience Mount Vernon as an organization and Downtown Mount Vernon as a whole.
