Both Drenda and Gary Keesee were present at the regular Knox County Commissioners meeting Tuesday and Commissioner Bill Pursel read a prepared statement regarding Drenda Keesee.
The statement read “The Board of Commissioners has been asked to comment on the pending proceedings against Commissioner Keesee’s son. The situation is personal to her and the board will refrain from making any statements. She is an independently elected official and she alone can determine her ability to serve under these circumstances.”
Drenda and Gary son Gary Thomas Keesee is facing 27 counts including rape and was indicted by a Knox County Grand Jury Monday. He is set to be arraigned Wednesday in Knox County Common Pleas Court. The Special Prosecutor in the case said during a press conference Monday that the victims were members of the Faith Life Church where Drenda and Gary pastor in New Albany.
