Danville man killed in crash in Holmes County

Date of Incident: July 22, 2025

Location: State Route 39, east of Township Road 455, Washington Township

Holmes County Sheriff Tim Zimmerly reported a fatal one-vehicle crash that occurred around 10:27 a.m. yesterday. The victim, Travis D. Jones, age 57, of Danville, was pronounced dead at the scene by Western Holmes EMS. He was driving a 2009 Ford F-250 Super Duty towing a 2019 Goose Neck Trailer.

Jones had just loaded items at a business in the Loudonville Industrial Park and was traveling southbound on Banks Avenue. He failed to stop at the intersection with State Route 39, crossed the highway, entered a yard, and struck a creek embankment. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

An autopsy is expected to be ordered by Holmes County Coroner Dr. Leon Miller. Investigators are still determining whether medical issues and or other impairment may have played a role in the crash.
