Danville man heading to prison for shooting at Truck

Nicholas McDonald, 44, of Danville, pleaded guilty was sentenced for felonious assault and a gun specification in a January 2021 incident on Staats Road where he fired a shotgun from a car at the occupants of a passing pickup truck. McDonald was sentenced to 3-4.5 years for felonious assault and 5 years consecutively for a “drive-by” gun specification. While the shotgun slug hit the cab of the truck, fortunately the occupants were unharmed.
