In Knox County Common Pleas Court Wednesday Afternoon bond was set at 2 million dollars for Gary Thomas Keesee Junior who is facing 27 charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of three minor girls.
Keesee Jr was led into the courtroom sporting an orange jumpsuit and shackles. His attorney Sam Shamansky pled not guilty to all the charges on Keesee’s behalf.
Keesee Junior was arraigned Wednesday and his Defense Attorney pleaded his case for a lower bond. The state, represented by Licking County Assistant Prosecutor Cliff Murphy asked for a 5 million dollar bond citing Keesee access to a private plane and the seriousness of the charges. The defense argued that Keesee has no prior record and thus is not a risk.
The Judge set the bond at two million dollars with not ten percent provision and ordered Keesee give up his driver’s license, surrender his passport and pay 5,000 dollars in Licking County for a GPS Monitor.
The charges go back as far as 2002 when Keesee Jr was just 13 years old.
Keesee is the son of Gary and Drenda Keesee who are leaders of Faith Life Church in New Albany. Drenda is also a Knox County Commissioner.
