Board of Health names replacement
for retiring health commissioner

At its monthly meeting Wednesday night, the Knox County Board of Health
named Zach Green to replace retiring Health Commissioner Julie Miller. He will begin
his new position on July 2.


Green has been with Knox Public Health for 61⁄2 years. He was named deputy
health commissioner in August 2020. Prior to that he served as emergency
preparedness coordinator for the agency.


A native of Knox County, Green is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He
has a bachelor’s degree in public safety management from Franklin University, an
associate degree in law enforcement from Central Ohio Technical College and a
master’s degree in business administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.


Miller, who has served as health commissioner for Knox Public Health for more
than 11 years, announced her retirement last November. Her last day is July 1.
