The Mount Vernon Arts Consortium is set to kick off its 2023 season with an appearance by renowned actor and comedian Paul Reiser. Reiser will be performing his most recent stand-up comedy act at the Knox Memorial Theater, a 1,000-seat pillar arts venue in the community. The performance will take place at 8 pm on Friday, March 3rd.
Comedian, actor, television writer, author, and musician Paul Reiser is one of Hollywood’s most prolific creatives—and he shows no signs of slowing down. Reiser stars in Stranger Things on Netflix as Dr. Sam Owens, a role created by the Duffer Brothers specifically for Reiser, and Steven Levitan’s Reboot on Hulu, as well as receiving an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his recent performance in the third and final season of The Kominsky Method. First receiving recognition for film roles in Diner, Aliens, and Beverly Hills Cop, Reiser rose to be a household name with his iconic role in Mad About You, the long-running hit 90s NBC comedy Reiser co-created and starred in with Helen Hunt.
“Paul Reiser is a Hollywood fixture and a gifted comedic talent,” said Martin Booker, executive director of the Mount Vernon Arts Consortium. “We are thrilled to be able to welcome such a versatile entertainer to our community, especially one that appeals to such a diverse audience as Reiser.”
Reiser’s stand-up performance marks the start of the Mount Vernon Arts Consortium’s 2023 season. The Arts Consortium exists to amplify the arts and entertainment in Mount Vernon OH, which is in the midst of a rural renaissance. In 2022, the Consortium welcomed performances by Ace Frehley of KISS, contemporary Christian artist Amy Grant, actor and comedian Kevin Nealon, the aerial and acrobatics production Aureum, and Grammy-award-winning country artist Clint Black to its pillar venues.
