Field of Honor: A Patriotic Tribute to Our Heroes
Event Dates: Friday, August 30th – Monday, September 2nd, 2024
Location: Ariel Foundation Park, 10 Pittsburgh Ave, Mt Vernon, Ohio

Mount Vernon, Ohio – The Exchange Club of Mount Vernon & Knox County is proud to present the Field of Honor at Ariel Foundation Park over Labor Day weekend, from Friday, August 30th to Monday, September 2nd, 2024. This awe-inspiring event will feature 500 United States flags, each standing as a silent tribute to the heroes among us.

For four days and three nights, Ariel Foundation Park will be transformed into a sea of red, white, and blue, as these flags fly in a solemn formation, creating a breathtaking panorama that will resonate with the spirit of patriotism and community. Each flag represents an individual and carries a story—stories of courage, sacrifice, and service.

This event offers a unique opportunity for our community to come together to remember and honor the many heroes who have touched our lives. Whether they are first responders, community or faith leaders, military veterans, active-duty personnel, medical professionals, or beloved family members, this tribute allows us to recognize and celebrate their contributions.

Community members are invited to participate by purchasing and dedicating a flag in honor or memory of their local hero. Each flagpole will be tagged with the honoree’s name and adorned with a ribbon, and these flags will fly proudly for the duration of the event. This is a meaningful way to show gratitude and ensure that their legacy is honored.

Special activities are planned throughout the weekend, making this event not only a time for reflection but also a celebration of the values that unite us. We encourage everyone to visit Ariel Foundation Park during Labor Day weekend to experience this powerful display of community spirit and patriotism.

For more information on how to purchase and designate a flag, please visit www.healingfield.org/event/mountvernonoh24/.

Join us as we pay tribute to our heroes and celebrate the values that define our community.
