The 2023 Make a Difference Walk #ShafferStrong will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 11am to 3pm.
This walk is hosted in memory of LeAnne Shaffer, a strong, courageous Grandma, Mom, Wife, Aunt, Sister, and Friend who bravely fought Felicia, her ovarian cancer. This walk will raise funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital.
How to Make a Difference
- Sign Up
Choose to lead a team or participate solo.
- Recruit friends and family
However you choose to participate, get friends and family to join you. The more people, the bigger difference we will make.
- Raise Money
Send emails and text to family and friends to ask for donations for your team. Use the QR code or the Venmo Handle and have them put your name or your team name in the comments.
- Celebrate
Join us on Sunday, March 12 to Walk laps around the Mt. Vernon High School track to Make a Difference.
Join the Shaffer family, friends, and community by fundraising for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the OSU James Cancer Hospital to fight cancer and stand #ShafferStrong!

Bunnies for Babes is back… March 13th – 31st! Surrounding Knox County libraries will be collecting New stuffed animals to be given to less fortunate children for Easter. All you need to do is drop of a New stuffed animal at one of the following libraries in the county… Mt Vernon, Fredericktown, Gambier or Danville. Help make a child feel special this easter
