Conservatory Aglow @ Franklin Park Conservatory

Conservatory Aglow is a chance to experience Franklin Park Conservatory illuminated with dazzling light displays! Face coverings are required and ticket reservations are strongly encouraged.
A primarily outdoor experience, Conservatory Aglow is a chance to see the Children’s Garden, the Grand Mallway, and this year’s Paul Busse Garden Railway decked out in holiday light displays, as well as a color-changing Palm House illuminated by the “Light Raiment II” installation by James Turrell. The interior biomes are also open during Conservatory Aglow, including the Gingerbread Competition and the Chihuly glass art installations.
The Botanica Gift Shop & Greenhouse and food truck will be open during Conservatory Aglow, and live entertainment will also be available on select evenings. Check fpconservatory.org/conservatory-aglow for details.
Conservatory Aglow is presented by American Electric Power Foundation with lighting partner Ahlum & Arbor Tree Preservation.
PLEASE NOTE: All visitors are required to wear a face covering for all indoor and outdoor experiences at the Conservatory. Ticket reservations are encouraged to help with social distancing. For the latest safety policies, please check fpconservatory.org before your visit.

Birdwatching for Beginners @ Grange Insurance Audubon Center

If you’ve wondered what birdwatching is about, but can’t even see a bird in a pair of binoculars, this is for you. Bring your binoculars or use ours. We’ll teach you tricks to start or improve upon a fun hobby. Weather permitting, we’ll go on a short hike or ‘arm chair’ bird watch.

Centering around Olympic Ice Carvings this event has much to offer in the way of free family entertainment. Bring the family down to check out all the ice sculptures that line the street and watch the live carving demos.

WinterFest

Aaron Costic and his team from Elegant Ice Creations will offer six carving demonstrations Saturday at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. The demonstrations are free and open to the public.

Weather permitting, the sponsored sculptures will be placed along Main Street around 5 p.m. Friday evening and will remain in place throughout the weekend. If the weather is too warm or rainy, the sculptures may go up Saturday morning instead.
