Free Triple P Parenting Program Helps Knox County Families Build Skills and Reduce Stress
Mount Vernon, OH – August 2025 – Parents and caregivers in Knox County are invited to participate in Core Triple P, a free five-session parenting program designed to reduce family stress and help children thrive. The series will run Wednesdays, September 24 through Ocotber 22, 2025, from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. at New Hope Early Education Center, 11700 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon.
The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is an internationally recognized, research-based system that equips parents with practical tools to manage challenging behavior, encourage positive development, and create calmer, happier family life.
Participants will learn:
- Why children (ages 0–12) behave the way they do
- How to teach kids new skills to manage their emotions
- Proven strategies to encourage cooperation and reduce conflict
- Tips to help parents feel calmer and more confident
The program is free to parents and caregivers who live or work in Knox County. Dinner and childcare will be provided each evening. Participants who complete the program will also receive a $50 Walmart gift card.
“Parenting is one of the toughest jobs out there, but with the right tools, it can be less stressful and far more rewarding,” said Susan McDonald, coordinator of the Parent Support Initiative. “Triple P gives families practical strategies that make a real difference.”
