Free Parenting Workshop Helps Families Reconnect with Teens

Parents of tweens and teens in Knox County are invited to a free parenting workshop, Getting Teenagers to Cooperate, hosted by the Knox Parent Support Initiative. This interactive two-hour Teen Triple P Discussion Group will be held on Wednesday, September 10, from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. in the New Directions Conference Room, 212 N Main Street.

Adolescence can bring new challenges for families, including less cooperation at home. This session is designed to provide parents and caregivers with practical strategies to motivate teens to participate more positively in family life.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Encourage teenagers to cooperate with family and others
  • Promote politeness, consideration, and appropriate behavior
  • Strengthen bonds and enjoy family activities together

The workshop is free to all Knox County parents and caregivers. Course materials and dinner will be provided.

Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) is free to all parents and caregivers in Knox County through generous funding from the Ariel Foundation and United Way of Knox County.
