Fredericktown Council Advances Sewer Pump Replacement, Water Project Grant Application

Fredericktown Village Council moved quickly through its agenda Tuesday night, approving two key measures with little delay. Council members Chris Cline, Ray Brewer, Rick Lanuzza, Scott McKnight, Sabrina Pugh, and Ryan Shoemaker, along with Mayor Jerry Day, handled both items in a single reading.

Council approved an ordinance to replace a much‑needed sewer pump in the village, citing the urgency of the repair. Members also passed a resolution authorizing the Village Administrator to prepare a grant application for Phase III of Fredericktown’s ongoing water system improvements. That measure was adopted as an emergency to keep the project on schedule.

The future of the building that once housed the Fredericktown Historical Society Museum briefly came up during the meeting. The former church‑turned‑library‑turned‑museum remains without a clear next use, and council expects to discuss options in more detail at upcoming meetings.
