Fadely featured by NCAC after record-setting swim

CLEVELAND, Ohio — For the second time during the 2024-25 swimming and diving season, the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) featured Kenyon College’s Jennah Fadely as the conference’s Athlete of the Week on the women’s side. The award marked the third time that Fadely has received the honor in her career, and it came after a record-setting showing during a double-dual hosted by Princeton University.

Fadely found the most success on Friday night when she finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke. The senior stopped the clock at 59.62, breaking the NCAA Division III record and topping her own Kenyon record of 59.80 set last season. The previous best DIII mark was also set by an NCAC competitor as Denison University’s KT Kustritz established the standard at 59.77 during the 2018 campaign.

Fadely added another individual event win on Saturday to wrap up Kenyon’s double-dual against a pair of Division I opponents. She took the top spot in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:11.53 that was the event’s fastest time in DIII this season and cleared an NCAA ‘B’ cut for the race. Fadely also helped the Owls reach the podium in three relay events. She helped the squad secure second place in both the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relays before swimming a leg for Kenyon’s third-place 400-yard freestyle relay team.

After some time away from competition, Fadely and the Owls will take on another DI opponent when they welcome the Miami (OH) University RedHawks to Gambier on Saturday, January 31. Fadely and the other Owls seniors will be honored during the team’s Senior Day celebrations ahead of the 1 p.m. meet.
